How can you tell a black hole exists?

You can’t see it. It hides.

But - It HEAVILY affects things around it. Instead of looking directly for the thing;

look for how it impacts things around it.

There are some things that I see, that cause me great confusion. Rules, government policies, statements, the state of education. At some point when something seems so badly implemented and over such a long period of time - the only rational conclusion is that it was a deliberate choice.
